The Gold Standard in Architectural Shingle Roofing
Architectural asphalt shingles have evolved dramatically from the three-tab products of decades past. Today's premium dimensional shingles — like the GAF Timberline HDZ series — are engineered with multi-layer construction, proprietary adhesive strips, and granule technology that delivers genuine 130 mph wind resistance and Class 4 impact ratings. For Northern Virginia homeowners in Reston, Vienna, Fairfax, and Ashburn, this translates to a roof that performs through hail season, ice storms, and summer thunderstorms without compromise. LUXE Exteriors installs only the highest tier of architectural shingles from GAF, CertainTeed, and Owens Corning. As a GAF Master Elite contractor — a designation held by fewer than 2% of roofing companies nationwide — we offer the Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty that covers materials and workmanship in a single comprehensive document. No finger-pointing between material manufacturer and installer; one warranty, fully backed. Beyond raw performance, today's architectural shingles offer unmatched design versatility. With over 100 color and style combinations available across our preferred product lines, McLean and Great Falls homeowners can achieve the dimensional shadow lines of cedar shake, the clean geometry of slate, or bold contemporary profiles — all at a fraction of the cost of natural materials. Every LUXE asphalt shingle project begins with a full roof system assessment: decking condition, ventilation adequacy, flashing integrity, and underlayment requirements. We address the complete system, not just the visible surface — because the best shingles in the world underperform on a compromised substrate.
The LUXE Difference
Extreme Storm Durability
GAF Timberline HDZ shingles carry a Class 4 impact resistance rating — the highest available — along with 130 mph wind warranty, making them one of the most storm-resilient options for Northern Virginia's weather patterns.
Design Versatility
Over 100 color and profile combinations allow precise matching to your home's architectural style. Dimensional shadow lines replicate the look of cedar shake or slate at a significantly lower investment.
Class A Fire Rating
All LUXE-specified architectural shingles carry UL Class A fire ratings — the highest possible — providing critical protection for your home and potentially qualifying you for homeowner's insurance discounts.
Energy Efficiency
GAF's Timberline Cool Series and CertainTeed's Landmark Solaris lines use solar-reflective granules that reduce attic heat gain, lowering cooling costs during Virginia's demanding summer months.
Best Value Premium Option
Architectural shingles deliver exceptional performance at roughly 40–60% of the cost of metal or slate — making them the top choice for homeowners who demand quality without the estate-level price point.
GAF Master Elite Warranty
LUXE's Master Elite status unlocks GAF's Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty — covering both materials and workmanship for up to 50 years in a single, transferable document that adds tangible resale value.
How We Deliver Excellence
Comprehensive Roof Assessment
Before any materials are selected, our certified inspector evaluates your existing decking, ventilation, flashing, and drainage to identify any underlying issues that must be addressed for a successful installation.
Design Consultation & Material Selection
We walk you through our full product catalog with samples, digital visualization tools, and neighborhood-context guidance to help you select the profile, color, and warranty tier that best fits your home and goals.
Complete Tear-Off & Deck Preparation
We perform a full tear-off of all existing shingles and underlayment down to the deck, inspect and replace any compromised sheathing, and ensure a clean, level substrate before any new materials are applied.
Ice & Water Shield Installation
Per Virginia code and manufacturer requirements, we install self-adhering ice-and-water barrier at all eaves, valleys, and penetrations — protecting your home at the most vulnerable points during ice dam and wind-driven rain events.
Precision Shingle Installation
Our master-certified crews install starter strips, field shingles, and ridge caps using factory-specified nail patterns, exposure settings, and sealing techniques — every step photographed for warranty compliance documentation.
Final Inspection, Cleanup & Warranty Registration
We conduct a post-installation walkthrough covering every slope, valley, and penetration, remove all debris with a magnetic nail sweep, and personally register your GAF warranty so your coverage is active immediately.
The LUXE Standard for Architectural Shingles
Full System Installation
We install the complete GAF roofing system — starter strips, underlayment, ventilation accessories, ridge caps — not just field shingles. This is the only path to full Golden Pledge® warranty eligibility.
No Overlay Installations
LUXE never installs new shingles over existing layers. Tear-off is mandatory on every project, ensuring proper deck inspection, correct weight loading, and the cleanest possible substrate for new materials.
Ventilation Engineering
We calculate and verify net free area requirements for every roof before installation — correcting inadequate ventilation that would accelerate shingle aging and potentially void manufacturer warranties.
Dedicated Project Management
Every LUXE project has a named project manager who coordinates materials, crew scheduling, permits, and inspections — and is personally reachable throughout your project.
Transferable Warranty Value
GAF's Golden Pledge® warranty is transferable to subsequent homeowners within the first 20 years — a genuine selling point when you're ready to list your Reston, Vienna, or Fairfax home.
Meticulous Cleanup Standards
We perform magnetic nail sweeps of all driveway and lawn areas, bag all old materials for proper disposal, and leave your property in better condition than we found it — without exception.
